Future Laser IndicationsIn addition to addressing the surgical equipment needs of otolaryngologists and rhinologists, Valam is focused on addressing nasal sinus infections, such as Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS).Valam has successfully completed its human feasibility studies and has begun U.S. clinical studies on the use of its proprietary, minimally invasive light based therapies to address: CRS (Chronic Rhinosinusitis) – sinus infection that affects over 30 million patients in the U.S. Biofilm – bacteria produced matrix that shields the bacteria from conventional antibacterial therapies, and one of the reasons CRS is so difficult to treat. In the future, Valam believes its technology, patent portfolio and clinical experience could also be used to address MRSA, medical device implant infections and vascular occlusions.
